The Lee County Library has a children’s program I wanted to share with my followers. Story Play is a program for very young children. The program starts with babies and they stay with us until they are three.
The difference between Story Time and Story Play is how we lead. Story play is around 45 minutes of fingerplays, songs, and interaction with the parents. We start the program with learning to socialize with others through playing.
As the children grow you will have to change out the learning toys. In our group we have babies that have been with us for three years! It is fun to watch them grow and learn with their parents guiding them through the songs we teach and the fingerplays.
To get your group started visit your local Women’s Hospital and ask if they will give out a brochure about your program. Most young mothers will be delighted to bring their babies to Story Play.
